Let's see, then.
The contrabass at the beginning really is dynamic, and sustain the action during the whole song. The piano, strings and brasses are fine, too. No problem, here. However, from 0:40 to 0:55, the trombones are too loud.
Now for the part with the solo violin. The same complaint i had with the other piece. The violin needs more reverb.
The last part is my favorite. Now i feel like things are getting serious. Too bad it ends so soon.
I think i said everything, now. I prefer this piece over Passing of Rites. Keep up your great work !

First of all, i would like to apologize for the delay. I did received your PM, but well, my computer was broken down, and i was busy and all that jazz.
Let's see, then.
As stated MaestroRage, the violins really are heart-breaking. They could have been introduced less suddenly, though. You know, make kind of a fade-in of the violins. Also, i think a little more reverb on the solo violin wouldn't hurt, too.
Nothing to say about the piano, though. The moment it comes in really take one's heart, without even breaking the action.
The ending could have used more reverb, too. It's always cool when the instruments keep on sounding when the piece ends.
That's all i can think at the moment. Still a great piece . Keep 'em coming, dude !

First of all, i would like to apologize for the delay. I did receive your PM, but well, busy and stuff.

The first part, from the beginning, to 0:20 is by far my favorite part. It really has a war feel, and the crescendo makes feel like the clash is really near. When it suddenly stops. Altough i would have done the said "clash", the theme change is well mastered. Not sudden, the action still goes on.
I have a little complaint for the following part, with that flute (unless it's a piccolo), though. I would have chosen another instrument. I believe a good clarinet would have been good, too.
I'll pass the other parts, as they work pretty fine for me. So i'll skip to the ending.
I really love the ending, and these high pitched notes makes me feel like this isn't finished. Kind of a "to be continued" feel, you see.
In conclusion, this piece really is amazing. Personnal opinions put apart, everything is really fine (especially the drums, varied and dynamic).
Keep them coming, buddy !

Cool stuff, i must say. I have very few complaints about this piece.
There is just one thing that bugs me. It's that staccato contrabass. I think it needs reverb. When the other instruments come in, they hide it, but before 0:25, it doesn't sound realistic.
That's about it, i think. Keep up the great work !
Author's Response:
All cool... I agree that it doesn't sound extremely realistic but I was only playing around with the stock orkester samples that ship with reason and without a lot of tweaking, they've always seemed a bit awkward and synthetic to me. I'm glad you took the time to listen - it's always nice hearing from you.
Thanks!

The first thing that came to mind is : Warcraft 2. Yes, one of the human theme sounds really like that. The instruments, the rythm, everything. For a time, i wondered if it was you who made the Warcraft 2 music.
However, i don't have any useful advice and cannot give further criticism. Just keep up your fine work !
Author's Response:
Haha as much as I'd love to be able to say I wrote the Warcraft 2 music, I was only 6 or so when that came out.
I was aiming for a very Warcraft 2ish sound, although the area between 0:20-0:30 was a bit TOO much like it for my taste. Nonetheless, I do really like that spot (probably because I love the Warcraft music as well), so I decided to keep it in. And, there are more than enough things different to keep me legally protected, so no point in axeing a tried-and-true style!
Glad you enjoyed it Deflektor!

Alright, let's see get to work !
Somehow, i thought the recording of this one was better than "Out of this world". Maybe that's because the other one was acoustic. Go figure.
It's pretty old-school, too, which is a good point for me.
If i had one advice to give, maybe change the ending. This one is too sudden, and it would have been better to finish with the guitars, instead of the drums.
Great stuff, though, as usual. Keep up that great work of yours !

Long tme no see !

What can i say. Oh, yeah, the singers. I like them alot. They have great voices, altough not unique, but that's not the point. Some singing parts make me think of System of a down.
Well, i can't give you any advice to improve your stuff. It only needs a professional recording and you should hit the top ten (^_^) !
Author's Response:
The 'singers' as you put them, were all me, haha. And yeh, it wasn't ever meant to be professional, it's an acoustic version of a song by my band Billy Rebel, I did this purely for shits and giggles if you will. But thanks for the kind words

Well, first of all, sorry for reviewing back so late after your review. I was friggin' busy with stuff. Also, i didn't review your latest song (Laputa's destruction), because i don't know the original version.
Let's see, then.
The harp needs to be more dynamic, less steady.
Mastering needs a bit of work. The volume is saturating. I believe the harp is the problem, there. Mastering is very important, so take a bit of time on it.
The flute is good enough, no major issues there.
Well, i guess i said everything i had to say. Just keep it up, and follow the advice you're given. I hope my review will be useful to you.

Well, sorry. No real review this time. I just escaped Guantanamo and i have to go before they catch me . (real reason is fatigue).
Anyways, good stuff, somehow tense, altough it could be even more tense. Loops well, too.

I shall admit, i'm not a great fan of techno, but i may change my mind with this piece of yours.
Mastering wise, i can't hear anything wrong. Lots of sounds (cheers, robot-like voice and stuff) and all of this very well mastered.
The sounds in themselves are well chosen, and the beat isn't too hard, which is a good point for me.
My only complaint (and a tiny one), is that voice stuff. Well, not really the voice in itself, but rather the fact that it sings only one note. But i'm aware that maybe you couldn't do anything more than one note, or that you just like it the way it is.
Nothing more to say, i guess. It's great stuff ! And the effort you seem to have put in this command some respect. (Voted 5)
Author's Response:
ya im not a big fan of generic techno either - but there really was no specific genre to put this in - I think waterflame said he thinks its "goa trance"..
and ya I mastered it so that it didnt give you a headache when listening to it :P
as for the voice - gosh it was hard enuff to just RECORD it - it would have tanek too much mental power on my part to record it AND change the notes - and ya it was also intentional to make it sound more robotic :P
I'm glad SOME people appreciated the effort that went into this :P
thanks for the review!
